Welcome to the world of Domenico Gnoli, an Italian artist who died in 1970 at age 36.
He only painted about 140 “mature” paintings between 64’and 69’, this show brings together 18 of them. Last time Gnoli showed in NY was in 1969 at the Sydney Janis gallery, how crazy is that!! I spy Francesca Martelli’s nape in the right corner…nice!
The beautiful Hope Atherton likes Gnoli too
As does Isabella del Fratte, she’s smiling because Michael Douglass just walked in, he’s a friend from Mallorca of Gnoli’s widow Yannick Vu
painting of a woman’s blouse
This one is called ‘coupe au rasoir’, it gets security!
2 people in bed, see’em??
Peggy Siegel, Rula Jebrael and Jean Damianian, they all like Gnoli too
see Valentina Castellani from Gagosian gallery, she likes Gnoli too!
Dennis Freedman and Brendan Dugan, they’re also into it
beautiful and weird
the “monster”drawings are hard to photograph, see this fish/snail/unicorn/sloth, they may be my favorite
Jean Pigozzi with friend, they are serious about……..Gnoli!!
Intimate, understated smart crowd
Daniella Luxembourg talking Gnoli
